Arnold, Edwin Boy 1st Class

Boy 1^st Class Edwin Arnold (P/JX 170978) was born on April 24^th, 1924 in Carlton in Lindrick, a village some three miles north of Worksop in Nottinghamshire. He was the tenth of eleven children of Harry (a colliery worker) and Hannah Arnold (née Hempstock). In 1939, aged fifteen, Edwin was working as a newspaper delivery boy.
