John Bow, WW2 Navy Veteran wrote that he was related to Dr.Valerie Looney (nee Covington). In the photo above (submitted by Ms. McLean) he and Mrs Looney had identified Valerie’s Father, Supply Petty Officer A. Covington. Facing the group he is second in from the left, front row, no cap and wearing sun glasses. Mr Bow recalled the day the news arrived about the sinking. He was on leave at the time. Regretfully P.O. Covington did not survive.
